Students studying in government schools will not have to wait for money to buy school dress, bags and shoes. The government will send the amount to the students’ accounts through DBT by September 30. Instructions have been given to the officials of the School Education Department for this.

Apart from this, a committee will be formed for the purchase of books in schools, which will send a proposal to the department for the purchase of competitive and other books as per the requirement of the students.

The state’s School Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat today held a review meeting of the Education Department in the Samagra Shiksha Auditorium located at the Directorate General of School Education. In which he expressed strong displeasure over the non-availability of funds for school dress, bags and shoes to the students studying in government schools on time. He instructed the departmental officials to send this amount directly to the students’ accounts through DBT by September 30. So that the children can get school uniforms, bags and shoes on time. Dr. Rawat expressed displeasure over the fact that some schools are being negligent in the name of book purchase, due to which students have to bear the brunt. He directed to form a committee at the school level for the purchase of student-friendly books in the libraries. In which there will be Principal, retired teacher, village head and President of Parents Association, who will select books as per the requirement of the students and submit the list to the department.

In the meeting, Departmental Minister Dr. Rawat summoned the financial progress report of the Samagra Shiksha Project. During this, he also instructed the officials to spend the budget approved under the project on time, expedite the construction work of PM-Shri schools, and to establish cluster schools, ICT labs and virtual labs soon.

In the meeting, departmental officials informed that a proposal was sent by the state government to the Government of India for the approval of new PM-schools, in which the Government of India has approved 15 schools, soon construction work will be done in these schools as per the standards. Apart from this, with a view to make digital education effective in the state, classes have been established in hybrid mode (virtual and smart class) in 800 schools, while the establishment work in 40 schools is in its final stage. Apart from this, a proposal of 172 lakhs has been sent to the Government of India for smart classes in 72 schools in this financial year. Along with this, a proposal of 517 lakhs for 124 schools for ICT lab has also been made available to the Central Government, it will be approved by the Central Government soon.

Officials should improve PGI ranking

The state’s School Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat has directed to take effective steps to improve the Performance Grading Index (PGI) ranking. He asked to constitute a high-level committee under the chairmanship of Director General of School Education, which will evaluate the state’s performance on various parameters of PGI and ensure necessary improvements.

Minister Dr. Rawat said that PGI ranking is an important measure of the quality of school education and better performance in it can take the state’s education system to new heights. He asked to pay special attention to the points on which the state did not get the expected marks in the previous report. He directed the officials to work with dedication and commitment so that significant improvement in the state’s ranking can be ensured in the upcoming PGI report.

Committee submits report on decreasing student population

The investigation committee formed to look into the continuously decreasing student population in the state’s government schools today submitted its detailed report to School Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat. The committee has prepared this report after doing a deep study of the reasons for the decline in the number of students in primary and secondary level education. On one hand, the report analyses the root causes of the problem, on the other hand, concrete suggestions have also been presented for increasing the number of students.

Minister Dr Rawat said that on the basis of the recommendations of the committee, the department will take the necessary policy decisions for student growth, so that the confidence of students in government schools can be restored and the enrollment rate can be improved.
