From July 1, 2025, booking Tatkal train tickets will no longer be as easy as before. Railways have made important changes to make the Tatkal ticket booking process more secure and transparent. Now to book tickets through IRCTC portal or app, it has been made mandatory for the user to be linked to Aadhaar and OTP verification has been made mandatory. Railways has taken this decision with the aim of curbing fraud and the activities of brokers. Under this, OTP based verification will become completely mandatory from July 15. That is, users will not be able to book tickets without linking Aadhaar.
Ticket mafia’s grip will weaken
If you have not yet updated the mobile number and Aadhaar card information in your IRCTC account, then do it soon. For this, the user has to log in to his account and go to the ‘My Account’ section and add the mobile number from the option of ‘Update Profile’. After OTP verification, the mobile number will be updated successfully. Along with this, the Railways has suggested that the user should prepare a master list on IRCTC before Tatkal booking. This will ensure that the passenger’s information is saved beforehand while booking the ticket and the booking process will be faster. This step of the railways has been taken to provide relief to the common passengers and to bring transparency in the ticket booking process, so that the hold of the ticket mafia can be weakened.
