Preparations are underway for large-scale cadre restructuring in the education department of Uttarakhand. 9512 teachers working in junior high schools will now be accommodated in the posts of Assistant Teacher LT (TGT). For this, the department has prepared a proposal for a three-tier cadre system and sent it to the government. The education department has prepared a blueprint to implement the three-tier PRT, TGT and PGT system on the lines of Kendriya Vidyalayas in the state. According to the proposal, out of a total of 11,555 assistant teachers working in junior high schools, 2043 will be accommodated in the post of headmaster in primary schools, while the remaining 9512 will be accommodated in LT grade (TGT). For this, options will also be taken from teachers.

Discipline and efficiency will increase in the educational structure

Similarly, out of 1998 headmasters of junior high schools, it is proposed to accommodate 955 as senior headmasters in primary schools and 1043 as PGT in secondary schools. The education department believes that this will increase discipline and efficiency in the educational structure. In future, there will be no direct appointment or promotion on these posts. Senior Principals will be appointed in the primary schools and model primary schools of development block and cluster headquarters. Additional Director of Education, Primary Education, Padmendra Saklani said that the proposal has been sent to the government and there is a plan to implement the three-tier cadre system soon.
