The Kedarnath Yatra which was temporarily halted for the last three days has been resumed from today, Saturday. Groups of pilgrims from Sonprayag have been sent to Kedarnath via Gaurikund.

Kedarnath Dham Yatra resumed

The Kedarnath Yatra was temporarily halted for the last few days due to the blockage of the road between Sonprayag and Gaurikund. During this time, only the returning pilgrims were being brought back through the alternative walking route with the help of security forces. Today, the main road which has become walkable to some extent, has become walkable. After the road became walkable, groups of pilgrims from Sonprayag have been sent to Kedarnath via Gaurikund.

Passengers will have to walk 22 kilometers

Giving information, Superintendent of Police Rudraprayag said that till the movement of vehicles resumes at the damaged site, pilgrims will have to walk about 22 kilometers to reach Kedarnath Dham. In case of rain, traffic will be temporarily stopped here for the safety of passengers.

Appeal to travel after checking the weather forecast

Along with this, passengers have been appealed to travel according to the weather forecast. The process of widening the road is being done continuously at the level of the concerned working agency PWD.
