All the government higher education institutions of the state will join the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. Which will be launched from June 5. Which will be run in all the colleges and universities of the state till July 31. During the campaign, all the teachers and non-teaching staff as well as students will ensure participation in the campaign by planting a sapling anywhere in the campus of their institute, home and public places. In this regard, guidelines have been given to the Vice Chancellors and Directors of Higher Education of the University.

Advice will be given to stay away from drugs

The Higher Education Minister of the state, Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, today held a high-level meeting of the Higher Education Department in the assembly hall of the Vidhan Sabha. In which he said that on the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, an intensive tree plantation campaign will be run in the higher educational institutions of the entire state from June 5 to July 31. Which will be organized under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign. This campaign was started by the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi, a year ago on June 5, 2024 on the occasion of World Environment Day. Dr. Rawat said that taking inspiration from this campaign, the state government has decided to run this campaign in all the higher educational institutions across the state. The departmental minister said that all the higher educational institutions will be linked to the national program TB Free India and Drug Free Campaign. Under which, seminars will be organized in all universities and colleges to inform the students against the increasing trend of drug addiction and advise them to stay away from drugs.

Instructions given to release the academic calendar of the new session

Apart from this, all the teachers and non-teaching staff will voluntarily adopt one TB patient each from their respective areas. The list of TB patients can be obtained by the concerned teachers and staff from the office of the Chief Medical Officer of that district. Dr. Rawat said that entrance celebrations and annual celebrations will be organized compulsorily in all the state universities and colleges of the state. Apart from this, a meeting will also have to be held with the parents every three months. He also instructed the Director of Higher Education to conduct DPC within a week to fill the vacant posts of principals. Apart from this, the departmental minister directed the Vice Chancellors of the universities to issue the academic calendar of the new session and start the admission process.
