After Pakistan violated the ceasefire and saw the activities of Pakistani drones, Punjab’s Amritsar district has been put on high alert, while most districts except Jalandhar remained under blackout. A statement issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar at 5.24 am said that the city is still on ‘high alert’.

He said, ‘We have restored power supply for your convenience, but we are still on high alert. Now the siren will sound, which will indicate this alert. Please do not come out of your house, stay indoors and stay away from the window.’ He said do not panic and follow the instructions.

He said, ‘When we get the green signal, we will inform you. Please ensure compliance and do not panic’. Earlier, at around 4:39 am, he advised people to keep the lights off and stay away from windows, balconies, roads and roofs.

It is worth noting that Pakistan on Saturday violated the bilateral agreement to immediately stop all firing and military actions on land, air and sea. A ceasefire was declared between India and Pakistan, but within three hours Pakistan violated the ceasefire. A blackout was imposed in Punjab’s Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Fazilka, Pathankot, Muktsar, Hoshiarpur, Barnala, Moga, Sangrur and Tarn Taran.

The situation remained normal in Jalandhar overnight, the administration did not impose a blackout here. District Deputy Commissioner Dr Himanshu Aggarwal said in a statement issued this morning, ‘Everything is fine in Jalandhar. According to authentic information, there is nothing to worry about here and work can start here as usual.

Security forces are constantly monitoring. As an additional precaution: Please prevent local people from bursting crackers, flying drones and forwarding unverified social media messages. Action can be taken against them. If any information of any danger is received in the area, we will take immediate action and inform you in time.’

In Bathinda, people themselves blacked out, but later the administration issued orders for it. There has been drone movement around Amritsar airport. Drone attacks were carried out by Pakistan on villages Khalda and Bhagwanpura in Tarn Taran district. The Indian Army foiled these attacks in the air itself.
