The Dhami government has said that this year Uttarakhand is going to make a record on plantation on Harela festival. On this day, more than five lakh saplings will be planted in a single day in the entire state.
Plants will be planted under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Abhiyan
Out of which a target of planting three lakh saplings in Garhwal division and two lakh saplings in Kumaon division has been set. For this, all preparations have been completed at the government level. On the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, this time this plantation will be organized on the theme of Celebrate the festival of Harela, repay the debt of Mother Earth and Ek Ped-Maa Ke Naam. Programs will be organized under this festival throughout the month. Participation of villagers to school students and various departments will also be ensured in the success of this plantation campaign. For this, a letter has also been written to all the District Magistrates by Principal Secretary Ramesh Kumar Sundhashu.
Harela festival will be celebrated on 16th July
Harela festival is organized every year in Uttarakhand in the month of July. This time this festival will be celebrated on 16th July. This festival is dedicated to nature. In such a situation, to ensure the participation of the general public on this festival, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has instructed the officials to organize plantation on a large scale in the entire state. Under which a target has been set to plant five lakh saplings in the entire state. Earlier in July 2016, about 2 lakh saplings were planted in the state in a single day. In such a situation, this time this record is going to be broken.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Uttarakhand is very close to nature. In such a situation, it is the responsibility of all of us to protect the environment. Under this campaign, plantation will be done in public places, forests, rivers, gaads, banks of gaaderas, schools, colleges, departmental premises, city parks, residential premises. In which participation of local public representatives, students, departmental employees, NCC, NSS as well as general public will be ensured.
