Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who visited the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Pune on Friday, said that protecting the country’s sovereignty is paramount and that India’s armed forces and leadership are ready to face every challenge. Referring to ‘Operation Sindoor’, he called it a direct example of protecting Swaraj. Unveiling the equestrian statue of Maratha warrior and great strategist Peshwa Bajirao I at the NDA, Shah said that warriors like Shivaji and Bajirao still inspire us. “Their determination to establish Swaraj even in adverse circumstances teaches us to fulfill our responsibility towards the security of the country even today,”

Referring to Operation Sindoor, he said – there is no question on India’s preparation

Pointing to the recent Operation Sindoor, Shah said, “We have struggled to establish Swaraj in the past and will not step back to protect it in the future as well. Operation Sindoor has made it clear that India is capable of giving a befitting reply to any threat.” During the program, Shah paid tribute to Peshwa Bajirao I and said that if the Peshwas had not carried forward the freedom struggle started by Shivaji Maharaj, it would have been difficult to save India’s cultural identity. “The history that Bajirao created in his short life is still an inspiration,”

Meeting with NDA cadets, emphasis on the role of youth in protecting the country

On this occasion, Amit Shah interacted with the NDA cadets and gave them the message of carrying out the responsibility of national defense with pride and dedication. He said that having the statue of a great warrior like Bajirao here is an inspirational symbol, which will give direction to future military leadership.
