The Excise Department has geared up to check the possibility of increased liquor smuggling under the guise of passenger vehicles during the tourist season. There are clear instructions that illegal liquor should not come in the crowd of tourists. The teams of the Excise Department will compulsorily check every vehicle coming from outside. In this regard, Excise Commissioner Anuradha Pal has issued orders for intensive checking at all the check posts of the state.
Instructions to Excise Officers to be extra vigilant
He said that the number of vehicles coming from outside states increases during the tourist season, taking advantage of which attempts of liquor smuggling can increase. To crack down on smugglers, the District Excise Officers of Dehradun, Haridwar, Pauri Garhwal, Udham Singh Nagar and Champawat have been instructed to be extra vigilant.
