A high-level review meeting was held in Rishiparna Auditorium, Collectorate under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Savin Bansal. The subject of the meeting was the review of the progress of Section 166/167 in cases related to violation of Section 154, 4(3) A, B of the Uttar Pradesh Zamindari Vinash and Land Arrangement Act and purchase of more than 250 square meters of land without permission. The District Magistrate directed all the Sub-District Magistrates and Tehsildars to dispose of such cases quickly and the mitigation process should be completed expeditiously by publishing a release in the newspapers. He clearly said that there should be no delay in taking a decision after giving an opportunity for adequate hearing.
Action accelerated on the instructions of the Chief Minister, illegally purchased land will be confiscated
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has given clear instructions that strict action should be taken against outsiders who buy land by ignoring the rules. In many such cases, people have used the land for farm houses, homestays etc. by taking permission for other purposes, due to which the local citizens of the state are not able to get land and the land rates are skyrocketing.
In these cases, action has been taken on more than 260 cases so far and about 900 bighas of land has been vested in the state government, while 75-80 cases of about 200 bighas of land are still pending, which will be resolved in the next 30 days.
Strict land law curbs chaotic land purchase and sale
This action is proving to be a milestone in the direction of stopping uncontrolled land purchase and sale under the new land law in Uttarakhand. The District Magistrate clarified that the land of the state should be used only for the prosperity of the state and local interests. He directed all the officers to fix the date of hearing of the pending cases and ensure their disposal as soon as possible.
Instructions to increase recovery, action will be taken against defaulters
During the meeting, the District Magistrate also reviewed the revenue recovery status of various tehsils. The recovery rate in Dehradun was 30.84%, Vikasnagar 14.51%, Rishikesh 20.26%, Doiwala 11.93%, Tyuni 7.87%, Kalsi 3.43% and Chakrata 3%. He instructed all tehsils to prepare a list of 10 big defaulters and take action for recovery as soon as possible. Along with this, instructions were also issued to settle the pending share determination cases under PM Kisan Yojana on priority.
Review meeting held in the presence of senior officials
Additional District Magistrate Administration Jai Bharat Singh, Additional District Magistrate Finance and Revenue K.K. were present in the meeting. Many officers including Mishra, SDM Sadar Harigiri, Aparna Dhoundiyal of Doiwala, Apoorva Singh from headquarters, Vinod Kumar of Vikasnagar and judicial SDM Kumkum Joshi, Tehsildar Surendra Dev and Chaman Singh were present. At the same time, SDM Yogesh Mehar from Rishikesh and Tehsildar Sushila Kothiyal from Chakrata/Tyuni joined the meeting through virtual medium.
