Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has wished the people of the state on Harela festival. In his message issued on this occasion, the Chief Minister said that Harela festival, along with showing gratitude to nature, also gives the message of folk culture and environmental conservation. Describing Harela festival as a symbol of happiness, prosperity and harmony, the Chief Minister said that this festival also gives us the message to stay connected with our traditions. The Chief Minister said that Harela festival also inspires us to take care of our earth and environment. He said that tree plantation and environmental conservation are very important to give a clean and healthy environment to the coming generations.
Uttarakhand famous for religion, spirituality and culture
The Chief Minister said that Devbhoomi Uttarakhand is famous for its religion, spirituality and culture. The natural beauty and biodiversity here attracts everyone. Therefore, our responsibility towards environmental conservation increases further. We have to make continuous efforts for the revival and conservation of our water sources, rivers and ghats. He said that our folk festivals are the identity of our cultural heritage. We all have to make collective efforts to preserve and promote the rich folk culture of the state. Only then will we be able to stay connected to our cultural and traditional roots and pass it on to the next generation.
Plantation will be done from public places to residential complexes
The Chief Minister said that in accordance with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this plantation campaign will be run on a large scale in the entire state under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign along with Harela festival. Under this campaign, plantation will be done in public places, forests, rivers, ghats, banks of ghats, schools, colleges, departmental complexes, city parks, residential complexes. In which the participation of local public representatives, students, departmental personnel, NCC, NSS as well as the general public will be ensured.
More than 5 lakh plants will be planted
The Chief Minister said that this year on Harela festival, more than 05 lakh plants will be planted in a single day in the entire state. Out of which a target of planting 03 lakh plants in Garhwal division and 02 lakh plants in Kumaon division has been set. This time this plantation will be organized on the theme of celebrate Harela festival, repay the debt of Mother Earth and one tree in the name of mother. Programs will be organized under this festival throughout the month. Participation of villagers, school students and various departments will also be ensured in the success of this plantation campaign.
The Chief Minister called upon all the people of the state to plant as many trees as possible and contribute to environmental protection. Describing public participation as important in this direction, he has also appealed for cooperation from all social organizations and institutions.
