On the occasion of the 350th martyrdom day of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, an impressive play ‘Hind Di Chadar’ was staged at the Doon Medical College Auditorium in Dehradun on Sunday. The program was organized with the joint efforts of Uttarakhand Sikh Coordination Committee and Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Charitable Hospital. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Delhi Government Cabinet Minister Najinder Singh Sirsa specially attended the program. Through the play, the audience was made aware of the history of sacrifice, courage and protection of religion of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji.
“Guru tradition has connected the nation”
Chief Minister Dhami said in his address that ‘Hind Di Chadar’ is not an ordinary presentation, but it is a direction-giving message for the society. “Our Gurus have always kept the nation paramount. Their life is a symbol of renunciation, sacrifice and social unity.” He said that the history of Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh Ji should be taught to today’s young generation, so that they can draw inspiration from their glorious past.
Devotees will benefit from Hemkund ropeway
The Chief Minister also informed that work on the Hemkund Sahib ropeway project is going to start soon. After this facility, the journey of devotees will not only be convenient, but tourism in the state will also reach new heights. The play ‘Hind Di Chadar’ took the audience to the time when Guru Teg Bahadur Ji made the supreme sacrifice to protect religious freedom. After the presentation, an atmosphere of reverence and pride was seen in the entire auditorium.
