Amarnath Yatra 2025 formally began from Jammu early today, when Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the first batch from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas. 4000 to 5000 devotees are expected to join this batch. The yatra was inaugurated in a very enthusiastic atmosphere amid chants of ‘Bam-Bam Bhole’.

Extensive security arrangements on the yatra routes

On this occasion, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said, “Shri Amarnath Shrine Board has made excellent arrangements for the convenience of the devotees. Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Security Forces have made extensive security arrangements on the yatra routes. Devotees have arrived in large numbers from all over the country and their enthusiasm is highly commendable.” Special preparations have been made for security on the yatra route. The deployment of security forces has been further strengthened on the entire route including Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and Langar Sthal Chandrakot. Ignoring the threat of terrorism, this time too devotees of Bholenath are participating in the yatra in large numbers.

The yatra will start from July 3 and will continue till August 9

The Amarnath Yatra will start from July 3 this year and will continue till August 9. Baltal and Pahalgam are the two main base camps for the pilgrims, from where the further climb is done. The Lieutenant Governor appealed to the devotees to follow all the guidelines during the yatra and cooperate in making the yatra peaceful and safe.
