Sports Minister Rekha Arya felicitated the medal winners of the fourth Kio National Karate Championship being held in the Parade Ground’s Multipurpose Hall by presenting them with medals. Along with this, she also felicitated three players who won medals for the country in Uzbekistan last month. Teams from a total of 32 states of the country are participating in this competition being held in the Parade Ground’s Multipurpose Hall. Sports Minister Rekha Arya, the chief guest of the program, said that all the players who have come to Uttarakhand from across the country since the 38th National Games, have described the sports facilities here as of international level. She said that now Uttarakhand is also hosting international level competitions, which is a matter of pride for every citizen of the state. The Sports Minister said that now the players do not need to worry about their career, as soon as they win a medal for the state, they will find a government job waiting for them. She said that reservation in jobs is given in most states on winning medals in Olympics, Asiad and Commonwealth Games, but in Uttarakhand, now medal winners of state level competitions have also been brought under the purview of reservation.

While encouraging the players, the Sports Minister said that in any other profession, their name and fame remain within a limited circle, but if they earn name as a player, then their fame does not need any limit. The player becomes an ideal for the youth of the whole world.

Medal winners were honored

On this occasion, Sports Minister Rekha Arya also honored Tarun Sharma, Alisha and Bhuvaneshwari Jadhav, who won medals for India in the Asian Karate Championship held in Uzbekistan from 23 to 25 May.

On this occasion, Karate India Organization President Bharat Sharma, General Secretary Sanjeev Jangra, Organizing Committee President Ajay Agarwal, Maharana Pratap Sports College Principal Rajesh Mamagai, In-charge District Sports Officer Ravindra Bhandari etc. were present.
