There was chaos at Rishikesh Bhadrakali turn when the bus was returning to Rishikesh with pilgrims from Badrinath. Actually, the bus caught fire near Bhadrakali. Seeing smoke rising from the fire, the traffic police personnel stopped the bus and took out all the pilgrims from the bus and extinguished the fire. The incident happened around 8:05 pm. A private company bus UK07PA 7650 was coming to Rishikesh from Badrinath carrying pilgrims. As soon as the bus turned from Bhadrakali towards Dhalwala, smoke started rising due to fire in the engine above the left tyre at a short distance.

All passengers safe

The traffic police personnel present at the spot from Muni Ki Reti made noise and informed the driver about the fire in the bus. The driver stopped the bus near Herbal Garden. The traffic police personnel immediately got all the pilgrims down from the bus. The fire emanating from the engine was extinguished with the help of the fire extinguisher installed in the bus. Police personnel from Bhadrakali Chowki also reached the spot. All 42 pilgrims were brought to Rishikesh Transit Camp in another vehicle.

The engine of the bus of pilgrims coming from Badrinath caught fire near the Herbal Garden located in Bhadrakali. The traffic police personnel stopped the bus and evacuated all the passengers safely. All the passengers are safe.
