Former Chief Minister and Congress veteran Harish Rawat has given a big statement about Gairsain and said that if the public brings Congress to power in 2027, Gairsain will be made the permanent capital. He said that the infrastructure was developed in Gairsain during the Congress rule, where once even 20 people could not stay at night, today there is a provision for 2500 people to stay there.
Give Congress a chance in 2027
Harish Rawat said through a post on social media, “Those who ask why I did not make it the capital when I had the chance, I want to tell them that give Congress a chance in 2027, I will make Gairsain the capital.” He reminded that after the Kedarnath disaster of the year 2013, along with rescuing the state from the crisis, work was also done on the development of Gairsain. The Congress government laid the foundation stone of the Vidhan Sabha Bhawan in Bhararisain and started the construction work by approving a budget of Rs 57 crore. A project with a residential capacity of five thousand people was also started here.
State government cornered on sugarcane price
The former Chief Minister cornered the state government on sugarcane price while taking a jibe. He said that earlier there was a delay in pricing, but this time the government has not yet fixed the rate of the previous crop. He warned that sugarcane harvesting will start after the rains, but farmers are not getting a fair price for their produce. He said that the government is directing sugar mills to make payments at the old rate, while farmers are demanding payment at the rate of Rs 450 per quintal.
