A 20-year-old youth lost his life in a tragic accident on the Sama-Munsiyari road on Tuesday morning. According to information received from the District Control Room Bageshwar, Yash Sharma, a resident of Mahendragarh in Panipat district of Haryana, who was currently working as a postmaster in the regional post office, was going on a bicycle with mail. Meanwhile, a wild bear suddenly started chasing him.
SDRF team present on the spot
Frightened on seeing the bear, Yash’s bicycle went out of control and he fell into a deep ditch. The SDRF team immediately left for the spot with rescue equipment under the leadership of Sub Inspector Rajendra Singh from Post Kapkot. The team that reached the spot got information that after falling, the bear attacked the youth, due to which he died on the spot. The SDRF jawans descended into the ditch and brought the body to the main road with the help of a stretcher and handed it over to the district police for necessary action.
There is an atmosphere of panic in the area after the incident. The local administration has instructed the forest department to increase patrolling in the area.
