On June 12, the Lok Sabha Speaker visited Dehradun. During this, the Protocol Department of the Uttarakhand Government has sought an explanation from the District Magistrate, Dehradun for not following the prescribed protocol. In the letter issued by the Protocol Department, it has been said that the Lok Sabha Secretariat has complained that the Lok Sabha Speaker was not given due respect and prescribed etiquette during the visit.

Explanation sought from the District Magistrate on the entire matter

In this regard, the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions of the Government of India had also expressed concern by issuing a letter on June 19. It was told that an attempt was made to contact the DM but his reply was not received. Considering this negligence serious, the state government has sought an explanation from the District Magistrate on the entire matter. Regarding the matter, the government has clarified that violation of protocol standards will be taken seriously.
