Because the condition of 942 school buildings in the state is dilapidated, there is a danger of accidents. The roofs of some are leaking, while water is accumulated in the roofs of some. There is no safety wall in the schools. This has also created a fear of landslides. Schools are opening from today, Tuesday, after the summer holidays. During the rainy season in the state, students are forced to study in the shadow of fear. According to Dharmendra Rawat, District President of Primary Teachers’ Union, some schools in Raipur, Vikasnagar, Chakrata and Kalsi of Dehradun district are in dilapidated condition. Apart from this, there is a problem of waterlogging in some school premises of the city area. Vinod Thapa, State President of Junior High School Teachers’ Union, says that there is a danger to the lives and property of children due to waterlogging and landslides due to torrential rains in the rainy season. Looking at this problem, the organization has been demanding that the dilapidated schools be repaired.

Teachers and students should not face any problem during rains

The summer vacation of June should be adjusted to July. So that teachers and students do not face any problem during rains. The state president of the organization says that waterlogging is happening in the schools of plain areas. Whereas in many schools of hill districts, there is a danger of landslides due to lack of protective walls. According to the Director of Secondary Education Dr. Mukul Kumar Sati, only 19 school buildings in the secondary were in dilapidated condition. Some of these have been demolished and new school buildings have been constructed. Instructions have been given to the officials that children should not be made to sit in dilapidated school buildings.

Director General gave instructions for the safety of students

Director General of Education Deepti Singh has instructed all the Chief Education Officers to take necessary action for the safety of students. Director General of Education said, students should not be made to sit in dilapidated building, room or under the cover of wall. If there is rain drain near the school, then special care should be taken for the students to go to school during rainy season. Also, do not let water collect in the school premises.
