Mahendra Bhatt has been selected for the post of state president of BJP for the second consecutive time. In the nomination process for the post of state president, only Bhatt was nominated. Eight senior leaders including former CM Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Trivendra Singh Rawat, Tirath Singh have been elected for the National Council member. Today, in the meeting of the Provincial Council on Tuesday, Central Election Officer Harsh Malhotra formally announced the election of Bhatt as the state president and members of the National Council.
Nomination was done on Monday
On Monday, the nomination process for the state president and national council member started in the state BJP office. In the presence of senior party leaders including Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, state in-charge Dushyant Kumar Gautam, Mahendra Bhatt submitted his nomination papers for the post of state president to the state election officer Khajan Das. During this entire organization election process, co-election officers Pushkar Kala, Meera Raturi, Rakesh Giri along with Jyoti Gairola, Subhash Barthwal, Kuldeep Kumar, state vice-president Mukesh Koli, state media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan and a large number of party officials and senior workers were present. After the nomination process was completed, Election Officer Khajan Das said that his nomination papers filed in five sets were signed by 10 different proposers. In which the main proposers of all the sets were Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami, former Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, National Media Incharge and Garhwal Lok Sabha MP Anil Baluni, Nainital MP Ajay Bhatt and Almora MP and Union Minister of State Ajay Tamta. Other proposers were State General Secretary Organization Ajay Kumar, former CM Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal, Kalpana Saini, Tehri Lok Sabha MP Maharani Mala Rajyalakshmi Shah, Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj, Ganesh Joshi, Subodh Uniyal, former State President and MLA Bishan Singh Chuphal, MLA Vinod Chamoli, Umesh Sharma Kau, Vinod Kandhari, Ram Singh Kaida, Mahant Dilip Singh Rawat and Brijbhushan Gairola.

Cabinet Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, Union Minister Ajay Tamta, former CM Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Trivendra Singh Rawat, Tirath Singh Rawat, Ajay Bhatt, Mala Rajya Lakshmi Shah and Kalpana Saini had filed nominations for the National Council Member. All these leaders were elected for the National Council.
After Mahendra Bhatt became the President, we won all the elections. The organization expanded. He has had a long political experience in his journey from a common worker to the state president. He has made a big contribution in giving momentum to the organization by taking everyone along. All the senior leaders had proposed his nomination today. With the formal announcement on Tuesday, Mahendra Bhatt made a record of becoming the president of Uttarakhand BJP for the second consecutive time. Before him, no president got the opportunity to take over the reins of the organization for the second time. Bhatt has become the 10th state president of BJP.
