Heli service will start operating for Chardham from Tuesday i.e. today. After the helicopter accident in Kedarnath Dham area on June 15, the operation of heli service for Chardham was stopped. CEO of Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority Sonika said that she has confirmed the start of heli service operation. Let us tell you, taking seriously the helicopter accidents in Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has issued strict instructions regarding helicopter operations. The Chief Minister said that strict SOP should be prepared for the operation of heli services in the state, in which complete investigation of the technical condition of the helicopter and taking accurate weather information before flight should be made mandatory.
Formation of a committee of technical experts
The Chief Minister directed the Chief Secretary to constitute a committee of technical experts, which will prepare the SOP by thoroughly reviewing all the technical and safety aspects of heli operations. This committee will ensure that the operation of heli services is completely safe, transparent and as per the prescribed standards. Along with this, the Chief Minister has also directed that the high level committee constituted to investigate the previous helicopter accidents in the state will thoroughly investigate every aspect of today’s heli crash and submit its report.
Security is the top priority
This committee will deeply investigate the causes of each incident and identify the guilty persons or institutions and recommend strict action against them. The Chief Minister said that the importance of heli services in the state is immense for pilgrimage, disaster management and emergency services, hence safety will be given top priority in these.
