The Special Task Force (STF) has achieved another important success under the “Drugs Free Devbhoomi Abhiyan” of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, being run to make the state of Uttarakhand drug free. The Anti Narcotics Task Force, Kumaon Unit of STF, in a joint operation with the local police in the Rudrapur police station area of Udham Singh Nagar district, arrested a notorious drug smuggler with 135 grams of illegal heroin worth about ₹ 40 lakh.
This is how the smuggler was caught
Late in the evening, STF and Rudrapur Police Station conducted a joint operation. During the operation, a suspicious person was detained near Gate No. 2 of Gandhi Park, Roadways Rudrapur. During the search, 135 grams of heroin was recovered from him. Its estimated price in the international market is around Rs 40 lakh.

Revelation in preliminary interrogation
During interrogation, accused Dharamveer told that he used to buy this heroin from Mirganj, Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh) and sell it in Rudrapur and surrounding areas. He has also revealed the names of some other smugglers, on whom separate action will be taken soon. The criminal record of the accused is also being investigated by STF.
This successful action was taken as per the instructions of Senior Superintendent of Police STF Navneet Bhullar and under the direction of Additional Superintendent of Police Swapan Kishore Singh and CO RB Chamola. This operation was led by Inspector-in-Charge STF (Anti Narcotics) Kumaon Unit Pawan Swaroop.
Senior Superintendent of Police STF Navneet Bhullar has again appealed to the public to stay away from drugs and not get involved in drug smuggling due to any greed. If anyone has information about drug smuggling or any activity related to it, immediately inform STF Uttarakhand or the nearest police station.
