Amidst clear weather and bright sunshine, a large number of tourists have arrived at the tourist destinations in the district to celebrate the New Year. Famous destinations like Kedarkantha, Harshil, and Dayara, known for their natural beauty, are buzzing with tourists from various parts of the country.
Today, over 3,000 tourists arrived in Harshil, Dayara, and Sankri areas. According to reports, more than 5,000 tourists are visiting the major tourist destinations in the district.
To celebrate the New Year, local hotel and dhaba owners, as well as tourism entrepreneurs, have made elaborate arrangements at tourist destinations and their base camps.
A large number of tourists have arrived in Kedarkantha, covered with snow, and its base camps in Sankri-Kotgaon areas. Similarly, tourists have flocked to the Dayara Bugyal area, including camping sites in Goyi and Barnala, as well as its base camps in Raithal and Barsu villages.
Harshil town has been decorated attractively, and special arrangements have been made to celebrate the New Year. Hotels and homestays in Harshil, Bagori, and Dhrali villages are packed with tourists.
The police and administration have also made special security arrangements, considering the increasing flow of tourists during the New Year. Teams of SDRF, police, and disaster management quick response teams have been deployed in Kedarkantha, Harshil, and Dayara areas, which are crowded with tourists.
These teams are equipped with satellite phones, walkie-talkies, snow chains, searchlights, and other necessary equipment. They have been instructed to monitor the movement of tourists in snow-covered areas and other arrangements.
To keep the roads smooth, necessary machinery and laborers have been deployed at sensitive places.
District Magistrate Dr. Meharban Singh Bisht has instructed the concerned authorities to keep snowcutters and blowers ready in Harshil area. He has directed all departments and organizations to take necessary action to facilitate, assist, and ensure the safety of tourists and people visiting the area during the winter season, ensuring that visitors do not face any difficulties.
