Uttarakhand:  Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has issued several important directives aimed at enhancing the state’s infrastructure and services.

Firstly, to ensure the complete utilization and commercial utility of state guest houses, she has directed that all new state guest houses being constructed in Uttarakhand should be made available to tourists on a payment basis. This move aims to maximize the use of these facilities and generate revenue.

Additionally, all government buildings, both existing and future constructions, are to be developed as green buildings. This includes mandatory arrangements for solar panels, rainwater harvesting, and water recycling, promoting sustainability and environmental conservation.

Water recycling has also been made mandatory in all water supply schemes to ensure efficient use of water resources.

The Chief Secretary has further instructed the Planning Department to mandate the construction of basement parking in all newly constructed government buildings to address parking issues and optimize space utilization.

For nursing students, there will now be an option to learn foreign languages. The Health Secretary has been directed to make the necessary arrangements to provide this educational opportunity.

In the meeting of the Expenditure Finance Committee held in the Secretariat, several key projects were approved. These include the construction of an athletic pavilion shed and seating at MPSC Raipur, Dehradun, the Clementown Water Supply Scheme in Dehradun, and the construction of an Adarsh Residential School in Makhanpur, Haridwar, with English medium education for Scheduled Caste students. Additional approvals were granted for new state guest houses in Pithoragarh and Tanakpur, the revised construction of the Tanakpur Bus Terminal, the construction of 32 houses for judicial personnel in Mohkampur, Dehradun, and a new nursing college within the Government Medical College campus in Haldwani.

These directives and project approvals reflect the state’s commitment to sustainable development, improved infrastructure, and enhanced educational opportunities for students.
