Dehradun: Bhupendra Kandari won the election for the post of President of Uttaranchal Press Club. Kandari defeated Arun Sharma in a direct contest.
Surendra Dasi won the election for the post of General Secretary by defeating Vinod Pundir. Anil Chandola was elected as Treasurer, Abhishek Mishra as Senior Vice President, Sulochana Payal as Junior Vice President, and Rashmi Khatri won the post of Joint Secretary (Women).
Kandari defeated Arun Sharma by 43 votes. Surendra Dasi defeated Vinod Pundir by a margin of 25 votes in the election for General Secretary.
In addition, nine executive members were elected. Out of 357 votes, 318 were cast in the voting held on Sunday morning. The election results were declared late Sunday night after the counting of votes.
The election was conducted under the supervision of Election Officer Kunwar Raj Asthana and Assistant Election Officers Lakshmi Prasad Badoni and Dr. VK Dobhal.
The election officer announced that Bhupendra Singh Kandari received 181 votes, while Arun Sharma received 138 votes for the post of President.
For the Senior Vice President post, Abhishek Mishra received 131 votes, Ashish Uniyal 127 votes, BS Topwal 30 votes, and Gaurav Guleri 20 votes.
For the Junior Vice President post, Sulochana Payal received 178 votes, and Rajeev Thapliyal received 130 votes.
For the General Secretary post, Surendra Singh Dasi received 169 votes, while Vinod Pundir received 144 votes.
For the Joint Secretary (Women Reserved) post, Rashmi Khatri received 199 votes, defeating Prabha Verma who received 108 votes.
For the Treasurer post, Anil Chandola received 138 votes, Manoj Singh Jayada received 115 votes, and Rajendra Uniyal received 60 votes.
Additionally, Abhay Singh Kaintura was elected unopposed for the post of Joint Secretary, and Shivesh Sharma was elected unopposed for the post of Comptroller.
There were eleven candidates contesting for nine executive member positions. The following nine candidates were victorious:

Sandeep Badola: 241 votes
Deepak Barthwal: 212 votes
Shoorveer Singh Bhandari: 207 votes
Kishore Rawat: 191 votes
Mo. Asad: 179 votes
Raman Kumar Jaiswal: 179 votes
Yogesh Raturi: 177 votes
Pankaj Bhatt: 177 votes
Ambuj Sharma received 140 votes and Deepak Chhabra received 162 votes, but they were not elected as executive members.
