Uttarakhand. The Uttarakhand government is preparing to take strict measures regarding controversial posts made by its officers and employees on social media. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the Personnel and Vigilance Department to draft a social media policy. This draft will be presented in the next two weeks.
In recent months, controversial social media posts by government employees have caused discomfort for the government. This includes the suspension of an assistant teacher in the education department and notices issued in other departments. In this context, the government plans to introduce a solid social media code of conduct.
The new policy aims to regulate the social media activities of government employees to ensure that they do not make government actions or policies controversial. For this, the Uttarakhand government has decided to study the social media guidelines created by the UP and Uttarakhand police departments. The new policy may be implemented from next year.
